Hi Hudson,
I have to lead this week with Xanadu at the Mac-Haydn. It’s a great show, you really have to go see it.

You MUST see Xanadu!

Too many events, not enough time! Such problems!
Last weekend was the Maker’s Pool Party – which was THE place to be in Hudson! At least last Saturday between 4-6pm.

After The Maker’s Pool Party, I drove out to Hillsdale for some honky-tonk at GRILLSDALE!
I got myself a sangria at the bar, which was neither honky nor tonky – but very good! One of these days, I’ll do some line-dancing. Maybe.
Taconic Ridge Farm is BEAUTIFUL! So, when there’s an opportunity to go, I go. Plus, they are all so sweet out there. It’s always a good time!

Then, on Sunday, Hudson Roastery had a DISCO night!

New Restaurant Opens – Camila’s – where the Thai place USED to be, or maybe you remember the Pizza/Falafel place on 7th Street Park. THAT space.
The Hudson Pizza at Camila’s has flowers, arugula, and shrimp.
Click here for pictures and a look at the menu
I know you’re wondering ‘why does the Hudson Pizza have shrimp’? I don’t know. I didn’t ask. Do you want it to have whale meat instead?

This is a plate of nachos – $10 at Applebees after 9pm. If you ask for Nachos ala Trixie, and if Jeannette is working there that night, and if you’re nice, they might just substitute vegetables for meat.
It’s the little things.
This goes in the “don’t-say-I-never-told-you” category. Morabito’s subs on Healy Blvd is OPEN LATE – like 11pm-3am LATE. They’re staying open late until the end of October-ish. Phone in the order, then pick it up. This is a game-changer!
See you around town, Hudson!
Trix

Guest writer – THEKINDERHOOKERS!
TheKinderhookers sent me a joke this week:
Why did the Kinderhook drag queen put herself to bed at 10?
Because around here we tuck in early!
Ba-dum-bah!
Much like the Greek mythological ferryman, Charon – who helped souls cross the river Styx from the land of the living to the land of the dead – I, Trixie Starr, ferry anonymous meme accounts from Instagram to the land of the living.

Judging the Cookie Contest at the Fair!

Luckily, they are not aware of my nefarious past back in New York City, pre-internet.
Now, I’m the cookie judge at the County Fair!
I was asked to judge the Columbia County Fair‘s Cookie Contest.
Here’s a BEHIND THE SCENES look at the process!
So much fun!

Go to her book-signing at Spotty Dog on Sept. 10th.
Personally, I love Jill. I bump into her while walking dogs, or at some Hillsdale event, or at the Market. She always has a smile and a soft laugh. Go to her booking reading and signing. What else are you doing?
I mean, really, what else is there?
