Last week there was an opening reception for a group show at 434 Columbia Street in Hudson, NY curated by TSL art gallery director, Kevin Gilligan. Art by four local artists, Tom McGill, Dina Bursztyn, Sam Meyerson and Danielle Norris is featured. The show comprises works of sculpture, mixed media works, paintings and conceptual art.
Despite the rain, the opening was well attended. The gallery space is large and allows each artist to showcase a number of pieces and even larger works. Walking around it views as four independent solo shows.
Tom McGill shows both representative and abstract works in bold colors and on wood panels as well as 3D works. Dina Bursztyn shows both 3D and 2D works with iconography inspired by artifacts from various cultures. Sam Meyerson shows colorful paintings of street scenes on paper. Danielle Norris shows a number of paintings and mixed media works inspired by conceptual photo realism.
The show is open to the public. For hours and closing date, consult the TSL website.
