Basilica Hudson Farm and Flea Market is now open in the SPRING!
Mother’s Day weekend, Saturday-Sunday May 10-11th, 10am-5pm, stop by the Basilica at 110 South Front Street – $5 entry fee – for the first SPRING Basilica Hudson Farm and Flea. Basilica Farm and Flea has been a popular destination in Hudson for thirteen years. This year, they are adding a springtime event. Trixie’s List had a few questions:
Trixie’s List: Is this the first time Basilica is having a Farm and Flea market in the springtime? What can people expect? Are the vendors similar or different than the fall market?
Basilica Hudson: In the past, we oscillated between hosting both Spring and Summer Markets in addition to the consistent Holiday Market – a staple for thirteen years. Even during COVID, we hosted a *Virtual Holiday Market* + free vendor e-marketing workshop to keep people connected to local, small businesses when they couldn’t gather in person. This is our first year doing three seasonal markets, Spring, Summer & Holiday. Each market will be unique, and while a number of businesses will be at all three markets, they will be showcasing products that are particular to the season. For example the vintage sellers and handmade clothing designers will be curating Spring/Summer/Fall appropriate clothing and farmers will be selling produce and pantry items specific to the season (jams/flowers/meals etc).
At each market, Wally Farms will be hosting free workshops specific to agricultural activities of the season.
At the Spring Market:
- Wally Farms will show people how to inoculate logs with mushroom spores. Grow your own mushrooms!
- ENOKI Catskill, Asian Pantry & Foraged Goods, will take over the Basilica Back Gallery with *Reflections of Home*, a two-day celebration, marketplace, food pop up and exhibition showcasing the diverse stories of the Asian Diasporic community.
- Want to come for a meal? Breezy Hill Orchard will be serving buckwheat crepes, Quinnies will be serving Pulled Pork Sandwiches with salad and housemade pickles, Doves Diner (formerly West Taghkanic Diner) will be serving cocktails and burgers.
Don’t forget, at the Spring Market, come and select your favorite fresh cut flower bouquets for yourself or your Mom – it will be Mother’s Day Weekend 🙂 Floral arrangements from Petal to the Metal Floral Studio!
