Frederic Church as Design Visionary

The Olana Partnership is thrilled to announce that nationally recognized interior designers Sheila Bridges and Young Huh will join esteemed journalist Mitchell Owens for a very special free virtual talk about Frederic Church’s artist-designed interiors of the Historic House at Olana State Historic Site.

Join us as Bridges and Huh reflect on Frederic Church’s interior design aesthetic, sharing thoughts on his artist-designed and carefully curated rooms. This lively talk will discuss how Church’s interior design vision is both rooted in the tradition of 19th century interiors and connected to our own contemporary trends. Owens will moderate a dialogue between interior designers to consider how thoughtful choices and intentional decisions bred Church’s unique aesthetic and contributed to the larger creation of Church’s masterwork, Olana.

“The Olana Partnership is thrilled to have two of today’s most celebrated interior designers focus their attention on Olana,” said Sean Sawyer, Washburn & Susan Oberwager President, “and honored to have such a renowned design writer as Mitchell Owens moderate the discussion.”
