Celebrate the 50th Anniversary in Henry Hudson Riverfront Park

Trixie’s List Q/A with Hudson Development Corporation’s Brittany Zuckerman.
Q: What’s happening?
A: Screening of Jaws on a thirty foot inflatable screen on Friday night, July 11th at 8pm (sundown)
For FREE!!
Q: Why did the Hudson Development Corporation decide to do Movie Night?
A: We have the most beautiful waterfront and we don’t spend enough time down there, especially at sunset. Athens does a movie night and it brings out the whole town. We thought it would be great to do a summer movie night and help support local businesses through this event. Everyone is invited, for free!
Q: Why did you select JAWS?
A: I worked with Story Screen Cinema, who are just the absolute best. Mike and Diana know everything about film and have done this for years. They helped me understand the types of movies that do well and everyone enjoys. Once we narrowed down the list there was a clear winner because Jaws is having its 50th Anniversary! Also we are on the water, so we liked that connection.
Q: What other fun things will be happening at this event?
A: We will have hot dogs and hamburgers from The Meat Hook and cookies from the Cookie Queen: Trixie Starr — in the shape of sharks! Also we will be selling shark tee shirts!
Q: Shark tee shirts you say… tell me more?
A: A local artist created the image and then we collaborated with Michelle Bellamore from MAYB TMRW, a screen printing shop located in the Antiques Warehouse. We will have three color tee shirts, navy, blue and white in a variety of sizes! Come get one for $20!
Q: What is the Hudson Development Corporation (HDC)?
We are a non-profit dedicated to supporting Hudson’s community and businesses. Come to one of our meetings on the fourth Tuesday of the month at noon, at 1 North Front Street, in the Washington Hose Building.
