TOM TAYLOR: A LIFE IN ART AND DESIGN

On November 8th from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., come to the opening for Tom Taylor: Beloved, in which we honor the life and contributions of a friend and guide to the art and architectural fabric of Hudson.

Artist Tom Taylor was a visionary and a lifelong friend to the arts in Hudson, NY. As a resident, he touched countless people with his genuine enthusiasm and kind demeanor. He was a key contributor to Hudson Hall and other local venues, and an important associate to Eleanor Ambos, who acquired PocketBook Factory in Hudson and The Campus in Claverack as a direct result of his help.

Tom’s friends Javier Magri and Carol McCranie have lovingly preserved his works with the continued permission of his son, David. In collaboration with the Hudson Milliner Art Salon—a premier art gallery at the center of bustling Warren Street—the first full and wide-ranging exhibit of his work has been organized.

The directors of the salon, Shannon Greer and Charlotta Janssen, often spent time with Tom, and they have worked extensively with Javier, Carol, and David to bring this year-in-the-making concept into reality. Their space hosts a curated selection of his works in addition to photography by Shannon Greer, which lovingly captured his distinctive style and poetic presence when he—on any day—was the best, most originally dressed in any room.

The exhibition is co-curated by Javier Magri, Carol McCranie, Shannon Greer, and Charlotta Janssen. It will remain up from Nov. 8 2025 – Jan. 2 2026.
