Rosemary Reyes – All I See Is Water

Showing October 7-28, 2023 at Lightforms Art Center, 743 Columbia St., Hudson, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays,  2-6 pm. “All I See Is Water” is a devotional expression about water as an element, ancestor, teacher, and mother. In these colorful artworks Reyes strives to take the medium of paper cutouts to a place of fluidity, temporality, and play.

The works are abstract explorations both of water within — as a vital emotional and internal function of being human; and of water without — as an ecological phenomenon that holds a wide breadth of plant and animal life both familiar and mysterious to us. The flowing movements of her forms is an invitation to transcend the material realm and access interdimensionality more readily through our senses and our imagination.
