Lance Loud Films Screening at TSL June 8th

Special One-time Screening plus Q&A with the Directors:
A screening of An American Family (1973), Episode 2, and Lance Loud!: A Death In An American Family (2003), followed by a Q&A discussion.

Lance Loud was the first reality TV star for just being himself and inspired legions of young people to feel free to follow their dreams. He was the first openly gay person on television and became a trailblazer for the increasing acceptance of gays and lesbians in our society. Directors Alan and Susan Raymond will be screening their original series work of Episode #2 that introduces America to a 19 year-old Lance Loud living in the Chelsea Hotel in New York City while showing his visiting suburban mother Pat Loud all the sights—both uptown and downtown. Lance Loud! A Death in An American Family, directed by Alan and Susan Raymond in 2003, visits Lance, at age 50, as he enters hospice care for a HIV-Hepatitis C co-infection and reflects on his days with Andy Warhol, his band The Mumps, a career as a writer and the experience of being the first reality TV star
