518 Day of Giving!

518 Day is a region-wide day of giving on May 18th, led by the United Way of the Greater Capital Region to encourage giving and volunteering with local organizations, and numerous local nonprofits are participating.

Volunteers from Friends of Hudson Youth will be at the Hudson Farmers’ Market community table to raise money for summer programs at the Hudson Youth Department and the first 10 donors will get a sweet surprise, donated by market mainstay Trixie. 

Friends of Hudson Youth is hoping to raise $5,000 to give local kids a fun and learning filled summer. Funds raised through 518 Day will support arts workshops, equipment for the bike coop and professional training for lifeguards at Oakdale Lake. MetzWood Insurance will be generously doubling every dollar raised as part of 518 Day, up to $2,500.
