What is a Solar Eclipse?People around the country will soon take in a total eclipse expected on April 8th, 2024. But what causes this out-of-this world phenomenon? Join Physics Professor Matthew Szydagis as he explains what causes this celestial event that captivates so many.  Matthew Szydagis, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Physics at University at Albany whose research includes experimental astroparticle physics, with a focus on the direct detection of dark matter WIMPs (Weakly Interacting Massive Particles).
