Two Shores, One Light: A Community Celebration to Support the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse

The Hudson-Athens Lighthouse Preservation Society (HALPS) invites the community to its annual fundraiser, Two Shores, One Light, on Sunday, August 10th from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at The River Grill in Hudson, NY. Doors open at 11:30 AM.

This cherished event brings together friends and neighbors from both sides of the Hudson River to celebrate a shared treasure—the Hudson-Athens Lighthouse. Enjoy live music by Cait and the Critters, summer wines and cocktails, and delicious hors d’oeuvres courtesy of The River Grill. Guests will also have the chance to participate in a silent auction, featuring unique items and experiences donated by generous community members.

This year’s fundraiser will help raise essential funds to support ongoing repairs, operations, and required grant matches to ensure the lighthouse’s future. The Hudson-Athens Lighthouse is more than a beacon on the river—it’s a symbol of what’s possible when communities come together across two shores.

For 150 years, it has stood strong—watching generations grow, witnessing change, and quietly reminding us that even in the darkest times, light brings people together.
