
Music Across China: An Interactive Exploration of Traditional Instruments
Experience the rich and diverse soundscape of China through this engaging cultural event! Echos of China will introduce and demonstrate a variety of traditional Chinese instruments—including the guzheng, pipa, erhu, suona, and sheng—while presenting well-known musical pieces from different regions across China. This family-friendly program also includes a hands-on session where audience members will be invited to try the instruments and engage with performers. Whether you’re curious about Chinese music and culture or eager to explore new sounds, this event offers a unique opportunity to connect with a vibrant musical heritage.

Echos of China is a New York-based ensemble and registered nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the rich heritage of Chinese music with global audiences. Together, we explore music from different periods, styles, and arrangements, blending tradition with innovation. Our resident musicians are accomplished graduates of prestigious conservatories in the U.S., China, and Hong Kong, bringing a wealth of expertise in both performance and education. We have performed at renowned venues such as New York’s Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Chinese Consulate in NYC, Washington D.C., and Houston, as well as major locations in Canada, the Bahamas, Austria, mainland China, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. Our work includes concert performances, music lessons, community outreach events with educational lectures and hands-on workshops, as well as summer and immersive teaching programs.
