Hudson Valley and international artists alike exhibit at new Chatham gallery in “Friends of Deborah Masters TWO”

New group exhibitions at Deborah Masters Studio, centered around renowned artist Deborah Masters’ extensive circle of artist-friends, from ’80s Brooklyn to Hudson Valley today.

Grab your friends for art, snacks and conversation! Visitors are invited to “Friends of Deborah Masters TWO”, Saturdays from noon – 5pm through July 19 at Deborah Masters Studio in Chatham. Free to the public, the new gallery displays works by Deborah Masters, as well as a rotating series of group shows featuring both local, NYC and international artists, throughout the summer.

The large and airy studio was built for massive sculptural projects (gantry and molds used in Masters’ process are also on display), and the studio and park-like grounds now house several monumental concrete pieces by Masters, as well as her works on paper, in plaster, bronze, and clay. The light-filled studio has been renovated to display the group shows in the center of the space.

The series kicked off in April 2025 with Friends of Deborah Masters ONE. Friends of Deborah Masters TWO continues with artists Peter Bellamy, Claude Carone, Dan Devine, Cathy Diamond, Marianne Gagnier, David Klampman, Erika Karl, Wendy Klemperer, Peter Lundberg, Liliana Malta, James Nelson, Thaddeus Radell, Vel Riberto, Kim Sloane and Fritz Welch.  Works encompass everything from photography, drawings, paintings, and collage, to sculpture in wood, bronze, and paper.

Exhibiting artists will be at the show each Saturday and the public is welcome to explore the grounds and studio, enjoy a drink and a snack and most importantly join the conversation and community around the studio’s big table.
