Columbia County Recovery Kitchen Sponsors Farm Day
CCRK sponsors a special fund raising event for individuals and families to visit two of the farms who donate much of the food prepared in the CCRK kitchens which is delivered to homes in need of supplemental food. They are two of the 26 farms that donate food.
The Farm At Millers Crossing and Common Hands Farm, two established family farms, will offer tours of their fields, greenhouses, barns and farm stores. This is a special opportunity to see how organic and regenerative agriculture practices are increasingly utilized in area farms. And, as an added extra, Phillmont Co-op chef Ben Bruckenthal will be cooking pizza for sale at the great stone oven built by Common Hands Farms Dan McManus, who is a stone mason as well as a farmer
There are a limited number of spots available and advance purchase is necessary. Adults are $20, teens $10 and children age 12 or under free. To purchase or for more information, contact info@columbiacountyrecoverykitchen.org.
